Setting forth from Ballard, WA for a year of adventure. And I guess a LOT of family time.
Are we excited? Absolutely! Are we nervous? Of course! Do we have any idea of what we're getting into? Definitely not!
But we are getting off the hamster wheel for a while. We do know that we will not be driving carpool, frantically searching for the soccer cleats before the game, running late from work to make the choir concert, track meet, piano recital, or all-school barbecue. And we are so grateful for the opportunity to simply BE together, at least for a while, on the road. So wish us luck!
"Wandering is the activity of the child, the passion of the genius; it is the discovery of the self, the discovery of the outside world, and the learning of how the self is both "at one with" and "separate from" the outside world. These discoveries are as fundamental to the soul as "learning to survive" is fundamental to the body. These discoveries are essential to realizing what it means to be human. To wander is to be alive." - Roman Payne
All who wander are not lost! Unless, of course, they are lost. At which time they will proclaim that the journey is the destination, by which I mean that destinations are not for those who wander. Have a wonderfully delicious time out there.
